Gingerbread houses!

I know I am way behind I am trying to catchup with what happened around Christmas and New Year's. It may take a couple posts, but I will get there. On Christmas Eve we were invited to go over to my sis-in-laws house to decorate Gingerbread houses. We had a blast! We had 2 houses one was more a kid's house with help from the adults.

The kid's house

The adults house this is where things got entertaining, especially with Mikel. He sure had a blast with his side of the house! The one below is his side.

As you can see there was some toxic waste that happened to be on the property and it ate up the bottom of Santa.

That is the Snowman king and the heads next to him are the previous kings who were beheaded. Mikel wants people to understand that the Snowman king is sitting in a chair and the jolly ranchers are his feet not skis.

Here comes the worms from Doom coming to eat the Snowmen heads. Do you see the Nerd Pool?

I made this roof look pretty thin Mikel decided that it needed chaos.

This side my sis-in-law's hubby's dad did!

Look at the tree it is the best out of all the trees made!

This was my side, other than the path and item at the end of the path (of which Kimmy did). I started the "reindeer poop" of which is on the roof as well as by the door.

This side was a joint effort. Mikel had the Snowmen chained to the house and I put the Necos in a somewhat interesting places since they were broken. It sure added some texture!

This was once again Mikel's idea. Once again the worms from Doom coming to eat Santa and sht smoke with the ribbon candy!

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas all! This year Christmas snuck up on me. I did get all my shopping done early but as far as cards and goodies go, it didn't happen. We are doing well, and staying busy.

Mikel is still working for ARC (American Residential Communities). He was just moved from the Titling department to the Utilities department. They are keeping him busy there and he gets to do what he likes to and enjoy, which is working with Excel and solving problems and building different reports and applications.

I am still working at Walmart and can't wait until I get out. I am keeping busy watching Dillon and teaching him many things. Mikel and I are still Ward Missionaries and have really enjoyed our calling and serving.

Dillon is learning so much! He knows his ABC's, numbers up to 29 (with a little help with the calendar). He turned 4 this year and is one happy little boy and wants to do everything! He also can't wait until Christmas to open his presents it is so exciting!

Breakfast with Santa!

On Dec 11 was our Ward Breakfast with Santa! We had a blast!

These were the Centerpieces Different Santa's and....

Candles.

This one is my favorite, go figure!

The Bishop and his clerk making pancakes.

The Bishops counselors also helping with another clerk, we even had chocolate chip, and whole wheat pancakes!

The kids sitting listening to Santa talk about the true meaning of Christmas! Dillon is that dark blue shirt in the middle!

Dillon couldn't wait to sit with Santa!

He was so excited and had a good chat with him!

Showing off what Santa gave him!

They had different areas where there were different activities here they were making candy cane reindeer. Dillon was trying to figure out what he was supposed to do so I helped him make it.

The next one somehow I missed but he made a chain with construction paper. The last one he played Christmas Bingo. I am surprised the kids didn't eat the M&M's they were using as the markers.

The background was amazing!

I am finally caught up lots of fun stuff happening! Today Hunter got married I am so excited for him! I am sad to not be there but they have a reception out here next week that we are going to be there for! I have 3 more nights(that includes tonight) to work before my 3 day weekend! Dillon is getting so excited for Christmas he is counting down on the calendar to when Christmas is so that he can open his presents!

Zoo lights!

I know I am late getting this one out as well. Dec 9th was Mikel's work party which was at the Denver Zoo for the Zoo lights! We had never been to the Zoo lights so it was a great time to go. First we had Dinner with as much Hot Chocolate as you wanted!! Yummy! I was excited about that. When we were finally able to go and see the lights there were so many! I took pics of most if not all of them plus we did see some animals. The pachyderms aka Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, and Tapers were all asleep in their house. Elephants sleep standing up! We saw Mountain goats, penguins and seals. They also had warming stations where you can get Hot Chocolate, pretzels and popcorn! It was blast!

The Centerpiece for dinner.

That's Dillon posing!

Dillon and I at Dinner he wanted a pic of us so I took one!

The penguin sleeping

The sea,l he was actually moving around.

Ward Adult Christmas Party!

We had our Adult Christmas party with our ward on Dec 4. I know I am late posting, things have been a bit crazy here. I was unable to go, because I had work that night. It was a success and I was able to help set up so I took some pics there.

This is the centerpiece it was so cute and simple!

Mikel Fluffing trees! I was surprised to see him doing this because, I fluff our tree at our house he doesn't care about how the tree looks.

The trees by the piano!

The night went well they laughed a lot and had a spiritual end to think about this Christmas time. I was excited to help with the setup even though I couldn't go to the activity. That's what I get for working retail during the Christmas season.

Thanksgiving!

I know I am behind for posting for thanksgiving , things have been a bit busy here. For thanksgiving we made a banana cream pie (I learned to make it in a cooking class that I had been going to), as well as a green bean casserole. We went over to my families house to have lunch and meet my brother's finance! We had a great lunch then we chilled watching the game and getting to know our new sis-in-law to be. I forgot to take the camera so I don't have pics, but stay tuned for zoo lights, breakfast with Santa, Christmas, and the wedding!

Let it snow!

Colorado had it's first snow storm of the season, or rather Parker did. Dillon was quite excited to see the snow. It was fun to watch his excitement. I didn't want to go out in it but I had to work. I took a few pics of the snow, it was so pretty!
