How we met

My friend Emily put on her blog about how she met her husband and asked any one else who wanted to, could do so and post the link so she could read. So I am doing the same!

DECEMBER 2004

I just started going to the Singles Ward after having broken off my engagement with my ex. I went to an activity and I was so excited to see all my old friends and get with them so I wasn't paying any attention to anyone else around me. Mikel was apparently there. Then a few days later there was a free swing dance night at one of the downtown clubs and I was supposed to be meeting a friend there who never showed. I ended up finding some other friends that I knew and Mikel was with them, and I didn't know he was there until he asked me to dance. The rest of the night I was trying to show off and flirt. I also found out that he was moving into the Singles Ward so I could see him more. I was so excited. New Years eve we carpooled with a few other people to the dance. Mikel drove because he knew where we were going. Soon after we got there, he disapeared, and I had no idea where he went. Later I found out he went home, which was right there by the building. He also brought his sister and at that point her finance, she was some one I met at BYU -I in a dance class. That was quite fun. After the dance we went to breakfast and the friend that was riding with rode in the front seat. That made me a little jealous, but then they talked and mentioned that they wouldn't ever date then I knew that it would be alright.

JANUARY 2005

We hung out many times and got to know each other well. Then after many times of him asking to be bf/gf I said yes on Jan 30. I was holding back because I was working on my mission papers as well.

FEBURARY 2005

We hing out more and I threw a birthday party for him and made him a 2 layer lemon cake, the recepie I had gotten from my roommate at BYU-I.

MARCH 2005

APRIL 2005

We got engaged, the funny thing is that I don't remember the date, but I remember the day and what he did. We walked the temple grounds and he proposed there. It was so awesome!

MAY 2005

We then got married a week after his sister did on May 13, 2005. It was a Friday the 13th.
