Atlanta Trip Day 1

Things started early Thursday morning, dropping Dillon off and catching our 8:55am flight to Atlanta. We dropped Dillon off at my in-laws house and then Mikel's mom drove us to the airport. I was so tired that morning. I had a hard time keeping my eyes open, but since this was my first time flying I was also a little gitty and excited... I take that back I was extremely gitty and excited!! When we got there and got our luggage checked, it was on to getting through security. I was unsure about how fast were were going to get through, but surprisingly we got through rather quickly. After we made it to our concourse we decided to get some breakfast. After breakfast we went to our terminal where we would board. While waiting we saw some friends that we also going on this trip with us. It was nice to have people around that we enjoy to be around. Then after awhile it was time to board the plane. I was so nervous and also wanted a window seat (I had no idea where our seats were to be) I lucked out I got one!! We were getting all ready to go and the captian comes on the loud speaker saying that the emergency door will not latch, so we had to wait for a mechanic, that drove me crazy. I was thinking that it was going to take a while and what not, but it didn't take that long. I started to get really excited when we started to move, then as we go to the runway. Once we started down the runway it was so fun it felt like a rush. We got off the ground and it felt like we were riding a rollar coaster. I was so nervous with every little turn that the plane made. Once we were stable I pulled out my ipod an listened to that while watching the screen on the back of the seat in front of me of where we were and all the info about altitude, MPH, wind, time left in flight, current time, and current time at destination. I was able to catch a little sleep but not much. The landing was quite fun although right before we landed we ran into a little turbulence. It felt like we were going over little hills, but never before have I had my stomach jump so much in one time. From the airport we caught the bus to our Hotel. The Hyatt Regency in Atlanta. It was so big!! There is 22 floors to this hotel.

This is inside of the hotel.

These are the coolest elevators ever! They were so fun and fast.

Here are some pics of Atlanta from the balcony of our hotel room

After we got settled I called my cousin who was in Atlanta, so I was lucky to be able to meet up with him. He works for Delta as a Flight Attandent so I was lucky that he was in town that weekend. We decided with my cousin as well as that other couple that flew out with us that we would check out Olympic park. The olympics were there in '96 i believe.

We had so much fun. The Coca Cola factory was a blast! We then had dinner that night and left early to meet up with my cousin and his wife. This was the first time I had met his wife. We then decided to wander Atlanta and ran into a bum who wanted money. Then we made it to the Mcdonalds and got some fries to share and a couple drinks and I got a cone. Then after that we decided to end the night.

That was Day 1 look for Day 2 coming soon.
